Alan R Smith Construction is located on the Gulf Coast of Southwest Florida. This oasis has been a vacation spot for many decades. Little Gasparilla Island, where we got our start, remains one of the last of Florida’s islands that has resisted urbanization. Slightly north of Boca Grande, and South of Knight Island (also known as Palm Island), the barrier islands of this area are an untouched piece of paradise, many accessible only by boat. Nestled between Placida Sound and the Gulf of Mexico, Little Gasparilla Island is an area where there are no paved roads, no bridges, and the majority of motorized vehicles located on the island are golf carts and other all terrain vehicles. For many who live, visit, and own homes on the island and in this area, this is a welcome reprieve from overcrowded, easily accessible public beaches on the mainland and surrounding islands. Little Gasparilla offers miles of unspoiled, pristine gulf beaches to its visitors. Being locals to this area for generations, we truly love working in our backyard on the local barrier islands, and this beautiful coastal area in which we live.
