This project started as a tiny block home just under 500 square feet in living area. These pictures depict different stages of the build, including tearing out the existing porch and roof, leaving only the original block walls. Interesting fact-the blocks used to build this home were carried across the bay in a boat prior to the barge service.
This build was constructed in stages to satisfy Charlotte County Building Code requirements. These photos show the new porch and the new conventional framed roof trusses designed and architected especially for this build.
Adding to the customization of this project, it was the owner’s wish that the inside of the house look like an upside down boat, giving this home the nickname the “Boat House”
It is hard to imagine that with a little creativity and an amazing crew with a great contractor as a leader, it is possible to build such a beautifully constructed piece of architecture.
